The best weekend of street photography yet.

I cant help it, im totally hooked.

I want to go out and shoot more street.

Its the challenge, finding something quirky, how close can you get to get that shot?, its the waiting game; waiting for someone to walk into the shot.

I've started to manual focus more; using zone focusing, knowing that anything in the 'zone' will be in focus. That way I can set up my focus zone, step forward and take the shot. The last thing I need is for the camera to hunt for focus!  I don't want anyone turning round wondering what im doing!!! LOL

If anything, im becoming more adventurous, im not shooting so many peoples backs anymore, im photographing people walking right towards me.

Often all you need is a smile after taking the shot, no one questions a smile.

This weekend ive started shooting with windows in mind; reflections, advertising, shooting through the window. Life is lived around windows, windows are everywhere.

Street Photography; Cartagena, Spain.

It was a good holiday.

Good weather, good food, good fun and some good photography experiences and subjects.

After the Mountain, street photography was my 2nd favourite photography past time on holiday.

The Spanish city of Cartagena was great; real hustle and bustle in the City centre. In between the shops and people, were bars and cafes serving real delicious tapas and cold beer! you cant beat beer and food. well you can beer, food and cake!

The thing I liked about this trip to Spain is that I really observed how much Spanish people like to congregate and chill with friends. The chilled vibe makes for some easy street photography.

Near the Roman theatre the roads and streets are on a gradient and offer some different views.

The Photography Show 2015

I used to go to car shows, now I go to photography shows.

Being a bit of a camera geek I was quite excited about going to this.

The show itself covers one of the halls at the NEC, so it could be bigger but the size also shouldn't be sniffed at as the place was crammed with stands and stalls and absolutely buzzing with people. In fact I don't see a need for a larger show as it took me 6 hours to walk round it all.

I purchased a new lens for my X-Pro 1; a 35mm f1.4, so far im liking it!

I also picked up a few memory cards for my 5Dmkiii.

All ready for the summer weddings.

The show is a mixture of large manufacturers such as Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon etc and smaller traders hoping to make it big. There are also talks, seminars and practical guides.

All in all a good day out. Laura even got a free massage so that kept her happy.

Im pretty sure its going to become an annual visit for me.
