I want to shoot everyday

Im always eager to take a picture.

Eager to use my camera.

Its all I want to do.

I don't like to go anywhere without my camera.

I don't really enjoy going places that have no photography opportunities.

The new rule about plastic bags in the UK has given me a greater reason to carry a man bag, so now I can carry a camera around all the time.

Recent time spent in Norwich, its always Norwich, I like the place, it's proved fruitful for street photography and projects, i set myself the challenge of shooting with a manual lens adapted on the X-Pro 1. Sometimes this reaps good results, sometimes its a day of bin fodder!

This day, I hope you agree was successful.

To start, I can't believe this is my 80th blog post, what have I been talking about for all this time!?

Occasionally I've been shooting behind the scenes photography of a film being made locally;

Its been good fun to help out where I can.

Recently we went to a 'secret location' in Cambridgeshire and I for one had a great day, creative photography really blossomed.

As always im using the X-Pro 1 a lot, I think my 5D may feel a little left out the majority of the time. The lightweight small nature of the camera and lenses alongside the the quality of the images make it a winner for me. I find it really comfortable in the hand and it suits my shooting style.

On the day I used the lights on set to create silhouettes or as a spot light to pick characters out of the shadows. I took along a Canon Speedlite and combined the ambient light with the flash for a couple of shots using some Yongnuo flash triggers.

Its a shame that some of my best and favourite shots from the day can't be shown yet as they give a way a major part of the plot. These will have to be shown another time.

A different look at the bridge

Today it snowed and so the sky has been a mixture of blue sky and black storm clouds all leading to a very dramatic sunset over Sunny Bridge.

I had my Fuji X Pro 1 in the car, so I put it to use, most days im really itching for photography so the sky was a good reason too.

What's a picture of the sky worth without a subject in the foreground, the most obvious foreground subject in my village is the bridge itself. To make the sky look as dramatic as it did in real life and possibly that little bit more special and to test out the camera I exposed for the sky to retain highlight detail and Ive bought detail out in the shadows in Lightroom.

The shadows are a little grainy I agree but for a grab shot it has the desired effect; just look at that sky.

Im always drawn to the red phone box next to the bridge, Id love to be able to get both the phone box and the bridge in one shot but unfortunately there's a load of other crap in between them that just ruins the shot. However up until now I had never thought of shooting the bridge from inside the phone box.
