From the streets of Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Yeah on the streets!

This is the 2nd instalment of photos from my few days away out in Norfolk; Norwich and Yarmouth.

These ones are ; Street Photography and Street Art.

Street Photography, on Wikipedia, is described as; "Street photography is photography that features the human condition within public places and does not necessitate the presence of a street or even the urban environment. The subject of the photograph might be absent of people and can be an object or environment where the image projects a decidedly human character in facsimile or aesthetic."

Everyone knows what Street Art is, think Banksy, think posh graffiti.

The Bicycle Shop, Norwich, doesn't sell bicycles......crazy!

Converse(ation) in Great Yarmouth

See what I did there? I haven't just miss spelt and used brackets all wily nilly for nothing.

We went to Norwich and Great Yarmouth, Norfolk last week for a few days. Plenty of photography happened so here's a few of the shots taken from those days.

My next blog posts will be about this trip but ill talk about different subjects in different posts.

Going for something a little different here, I focused on our shoes.

No.....I do not have a shoe or foot fetish!.............no thanks.

The first shots were taken during our favourite pastime; Bowlingo.
Fun for £1 each has got to be had.

The next which were both a laugh and real annoying to take were taken that night on my little Fuji X20 (that's what the man bag was for Matt).

These ones were taken by sitting on the floor, focusing, using the 10 second timer and then running into the shot. The annoying part came from getting in the right place and the focusing shifting.

ISO 320, 28mm f2.2, 1/6

ISO 320, 28mm f2.2, 1/30
ISO 320, 28mm f2.2, 1/18
We also gave all the passers by a smile as they all wondered what the hell we were doing.

And I was a little paranoid about leaving my camera on the floor and turning my back to it.

Thanks for looking.

Bump shoot with Kelly and Scott (and Ella)

I was contacted via Facebook regarding a bump shoot under recommendation from another client that Im shooting for next weekend. This is good for someone who doesn't advertise!

The shoot went well.

The conservatory at the rear of the house was bathed in diffused light with plenty of space.

The expecting couple; Kelly and Scott were really nice and were well up for the shots.

The greatest part of the shoot though was their daughter Ella who was very funny and very cute. As soon as I walked in the door she was chatting away and singing her ABC's. All changed when the camera came out though, for this Im a little sorry for as Kelly was hoping for some real family shots. I did manage to capture a few candid shots of Ella playing, she was especially happy when I asked her if she wanted a picture of her eating so she can look at it.

Thanks again to Kelly and Scott who were prepared to show some skin and stand in some awkward positions.

Im now debating advertising. Onwards and upwards!

Thanks Kelly, Scott and Ella.

Pre wedding shoot with Ashley and Jolene

I enjoyed a little impromptu shoot yesterday with Ashley and Jolene, whom Im shooting their wedding for In a couple of weeks time.

I met the couple at the church they are getting married at to discuss a couple of details before their big day.

Before I knew it, I had the camera out and I was directing the poses.

This couple loves to kiss!!!!

After a few minutes the couple were starting to act natural and were enjoying a little bit of banter. This is going to help them get prepared for the important shots on the big day.

Thanks to Ashley and Jolene, ill see you in a few weeks.

Enjoy.

Just a walk in the park

I was dog sitting Ella again and just fancied grabbing shots.

We took a walk over too and round the Memorial Park in Sutton Bridge.

I'm liking the way I've started to shoot faces of both people and animals. I'm filling the frame with natural poses.......don't smile!!! So I needed to capture my borrowed mans best friend in this way.

And for once she wasn't the obedient dog she usually is. She just would not look at the camera.
Luckily I caught her eye for at least a quarter of a second before shed look over my shoulder again, she really liked my shoulder; every time I moved to try and get in her eye line she would then alter it again.

And to top it off.....that tongue!

She's a beaut.

My favourite subject when on a photo walk seems to be benches. Why I photograph benches I don't know. I just love a good bench.

This once a good'un too as it sits right at the back of the back in the trees. Light is diffused in between the branches. Its a very quiet place and the bench is very simple. Simply peaceful.
ISO640, 147mm, f/3.5, 1/200
Just behind the bench lives a tree with vines growing up the side of it. Very photographic.
ISO2000, 70mm, f/5.6, 1/125
Finally behind the tree above in a section called 'Devils Circle'; I don't know why its got this name, it was just known as this when I was a kid so that the name has stuck with me. I'm not sure who named it this, why or when, is a 'zebra' tree.

I'm sure its one of a kind.
